If you have a Magellan GPS receiver (e.g., the GPS 2000XL, 3000XL, 4000XL, Tracker, etc.), and you would like to use it with Israeli maps (on Israeli Grid), you will need to enter special data into your GPS receiver. Follow these instructions for either the old Israel grid or the new one.

Assuming the receiver is initialized on ISRAEL and turned on, Press MENU and select the SETUP menu. On the SETUP select the COORD SYSTEM data menu. Now you should decide if the Israeli grid will be your PRIMARY or SECONDARY grid.

For using the Israel Grid, select USER GRID and enter the following data:

Select TRANS MERC (=Merctor)

LATTITUDE OF ORIGIN: 31.73409N

LONGITUDE OF ORIGIN: 035.21206E

SCALE FACTOR: 1.00000000

UNITS TO METERS CONV.: 1.00000000

FALSE EAST AT ORIGIN: 00170251.0, (FOR NEW ISRAEL GRID: 00220251.0)

FALSE NORTH AT ORIGIN: 00126868.0, (FOR NEW ISRAEL GRID: 00626868.0)

Return to the SETUP menu. Now on the SETUP select the MAP DATUM data menu. Now you should decide if the Israeli grid will be your PRIMARY or SECONDARY grid (It should be the same as you choose before, on the COORD SYSTEM). Now for using the Israel Grid, select USER grid and enter the following data:

LCL TO WGS84 DELTA A: - 0163.789M

LCL TO WGS84 DELTA F (X 10,000): - 0.54739085

LCL TO WGS84 DELTA X: - 0235.0M

LCL TO WGS84 DELTA Y: - 0085.0M

LCL TO WGS84 DELTA Z: + 0264.0M
